The Army Research Laboratory funded effort will both (a) demonstrate the miniature DFI system and (b) gather heavy fuel combustion data in both low and high compression ratio engines.
JM Harwood is currently testing 3W-56 engine to gather baseline performance data. This engine will be modified to conduct low compression heavy fuel combustion test in the Spring of 2010, and finally, to conduct high compression, heavy fuel combustion tests as part of V-SInTech DFI system’s engine demonstration in the 4th quarter of CY2010.
